Five useful tools to get the job done

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

Right now we’re doing some under the hood tweaking and redefining some areas of the site.

Meanwhile, I leave you here five useful tools to get your job done:

5ut_firebug

Firebug - Every web designer’s right hand. You can edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page. Install Firebug

5ut_design

Design - An amazing suite of web design and development tools which can be used on any web page. Encompassing utilities for grid layout, measurement and alignment, Design is a uniquely powerful JavaScript bookmarklet. Just bookmark this link and start using it.

5ut_colorzilla

Colorzilla - Advanced Eyedropper, color picker, palette viewer and other colorful goodies for your Firefox. Install Colorzilla

5ut_colorschemedesigner

Color Scheme Designer – Well, this is self explanatory. But it’s not just that, you also have to try the live preview for dark and light pages with your selected color scheme, simulate common color vision deficiencies and more.

5ut_multiple_ie

Multiple IE – Any good web designer knows that work isn’t done until they have completed the Internet Explorer 6 quest. Multiple IE can help you in this adventure. It lets you install IE versions 3.0 to 6.0 onto your Windows box (if you’re on Linux, run it in Wine). None these options work for you?  Then use IE Net Render

I hope these tools will help on your future work. If you think there’s another killer tool out there, let us know in the comments.
